Known Unknowns and Military AI

The predictable failures of artificial intelligence (AI) as well as related technology and the unforeseeable impacts of these failures pose new challenges for militaries. The panel explores the legal, humanitarian, technical and military perspectives on both the predictable challenges and those that cannot be anticipated as militaries adapt AI. How will AI systems perform in complex environments? What are the necessary governance frameworks to ensure accountability, reliability, and predictability of military AI?
