AI governance: challenges, opportunities and developments in governing this rapidly evolving domain

AI is rapidly and fundamentally changing our societies. The Dutch Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR) therefore categorizes AI as a ‘system technology’ that will fundamentally change societies, similar to electricity and the combustion engine. In this talk show, prof. dr. Haroon Sheikh (WRR) will present some of the key findings of the report. Different findings will be interactively discussed with high-level guests at the table.

What regulations are currently being undertaken to safeguard responsible AI? How do these apply to the high-risk military context? And are there already any best practices or lessons learned from them? We will also discuss how different countries and regions approach AI governance and what lessons the international policy-community can learn from them.
