A practical approach to responsible AI: Stories and Debate

Despite increased attention and availability, debates concerning responsible AI don’t often discuss the problems in the implementation phase. In this breakout session, Max Groot (Fox-IT) and Julia Straatman (Utrecht Data School, Utrecht University) take a pragmatic perspective on the usage of ‘AI’ in the real world. Whereas Fox-IT has overcome its fair share of technical challenges, Utrecht Data School has aided many organizations with ensuring the implementation of AI is done responsibly.

This session will center around the question where the quick wins are when it comes to implementing AI responsibly: in technological or organizational improvements? Through several stories from real-life experience, the best and worst practices of AI implementation will be discussed. Debate and group participation is highly encouraged.
